Malcolm Black

Pop star, entertainment lawyer, A&R director, international wheeler and dealer, manager to a New Zealand icon, APRA director, label co-owner – and on and on it goes. We’ll never see another music career to parallel that of Malcolm Black. Which may prove there really is a place in rock and roll for the quietly spoken, fair-minded and humble.

Malcolm Black passed away during the night of 9 May 2019 after a battle from cancer, mourned by his family, friends and all those involved with New Zealand music. A few months before he died he spoke with Alan Perrott about his career.
