Stan Walker

When Stan Walker won Australian Idol in 2009, the country embraced him as a boy-next-door pop star with a powerful voice. Determined not to be a one-hit wonder, Walker quickly moved into co-writing his songs. His acting career began with the film Mt Zion and he wrote the theme tune ‘Take It Easy’ which added a reggae feel to his soulful pop.

Aotearoa eventually drew him home and his songs became more personal, with lyrics often written in te reo Māori. It became clear he was not only a hitmaker but a songwriter with a unique artistic vision.
