SWIDT

SWIDT seemed to burst onto the Aotearoa rap scene already fully formed as a unit, with Hawaiian shirts, endless in-jokes, punchline driven rhymes, and the sickest beats imaginable. They put a mixtape into the Top 20, then their debut album hit the Top Five.

But there was more to the story of their success. One of their producers, SmokeyGotBeatz, was already working with heavyweight acts in the US, and the group’s MCs, SPYCC and INF, had a depth to their rhymes which came from a decade of putting in work.
