The year before they met, Maclaren won the Auckland ITF DJ Battle Championships. In 2003 Dallas won the Auckland MC Battle For Supremacy.
In 2005 they released their first and only album Borrowed Time. The following year it won Best Urban/Hip-Hop Album at the New Zealand Music Awards.
In 2006 Frontline toured New Zealand with 50 Cent and G-Unit. Later that year they toured New Zealand and Australia with Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda's side project Fort Minor and fellow Auckland Hip-Hop DJ P-Money. They also performed regularly around New Zealand and Australia, headlining their own tours and playing on the festival circuit.
In 2008 Dallas changed his performance and recording name to David Dallas and went solo. Since then Frontline has been on an indefinite hiatus.
Maclaren continues to produce instrumentals for Dallas and other vocalists. He also regularly creates remixes.
